Indonesia’s largest OTA Traveloka has teamed up with local travel tech firm PT Atourin Teknologi Nusantara to offer virtual tours on its website.
As part of Traveloka’s Xperience tours and activities product offering, 15 virtual tours have been released.
To begin, virtual tours of Bali are available via Zoom, lasting 60 to 90 minutes, and priced from IDR50,000 ($3.40).
Viewers can interact with the tour guides presenting the tour and plan future post-pandemic trips.
One of the tours is ‘Negara: Uniqueness of West Bali; which showcases a relatively unknown part of Northwest Bali which is noted for its water buffalo racing.
“We’re also boosting the recovery of tourism as we’ll be connecting the virtual tours with artificial intelligence and big data marketing. Those who participate in the tours will receive recommendations from our app about where they can stay, how to reach the destinations, as well as the nearest restaurants,” said Terry Santoso, Traveloka Xperience’s Head of Marketing.
Atourin also organises virtual tour training for tour guides across Indonesia.
